Digital Radiography (x-rays)

Digital radiography is a form of x-ray imaging where a digital sensor is used instead of traditional film. The advantages of digital radiography are many-fold and benefit not only our office, but our patients and the environment as well. First and foremost, digital radiography requires less radiation to produce an image of similar contrast to film radiography. Digital radiographs do not require chemical processing which means images are available immediately without the use of harmful chemicals or lead products required for the development of film radiographs. Digital radiography also allows for faster, more efficient communication with your dental care team and dental plan provider.

Digital Photography

Digital photography is used in the dental office to better communicate with our patients and dental plan providers. Our office uses a high-resolution digital SLR camera to obtain crisp, detailed images of your dentition. 

Digital Patient Records

At the core of our digital radiography and imaging is our practice management software. This software maintains a digital record of your digital radiographs and photographs and allows us to digitally transfer and enhance images. This allows for faster, more efficient communication with your dental care team and dental plan provider. 

Velscope Oral Cancer Screening

Along with a conventional oral screening exam, our practice has a state-of-the-art device called the VELscope Oral Cancer Screening System. The VELscope is a device that allows dental professionals to perform a non-invasive, pain-free examination for the early detection of a wide variety of oral diseases, including pre-cancer and cancer. 

Magnification

Dr. Varda performs all dental procedures using magnification and LED lighting which affords him superior visual acuity.
